IT’S ABOUT EQUITABLE RESOURCES AND INVESTMENT
Community Voice is an opportunity to lift up the great work that’s already occurring and to share perspective and insight about how to move forward collectively. In a city that is rich in resources, people, relationships and history, not everyone experiences wealth, economic mobility, dignity, and triumph.
There are the haves and the have-nots, and this is where Community Voice resides – to lift up disparities, challenge inequities and improve the quality of life for everyone.
The hard truth – there is a benefit to maintaining the status quo and languishing in distrust and divisiveness. It can mean that individuals who need resources and investment will one day give up, stop asking questions, and resign themselves completely. Community leaders and members, nonprofit organizations, and credible messengers are helping to guide and change the narrative and adding voice to broken systems, requiring resources and investment to move individuals and communities along in an empowering and transformative way. This is the spirit of Community Voice that we’re seeking and that’s needed to improve systems and communities.
