Welcome to a Community Built Specifically for Emerging Nonprofits

Next Stage launched Cultivate in 2018 as an in-person incubator to foster inside-out community transformation for emerging nonprofit founders and social entrepreneurs. In May 2022, the workshops moved online to provide more equitable access for organizations in Charlotte and beyond.

The goal of the Emerging Nonprofits community is to help develop social sector leaders’ abilities to build effective and sustainable nonprofits across six capacities – leadership & strategy, human resource management, program development, financial resources, operations and marketing. 

Here’s what participants can expect:

• Six, self-paced course modules including highlight videos, written lessons, video testimonies and more 
• An online workbook where participants can reflect, brainstorm and turn learnings into action steps
• A member activity feed to spark ideas, ask questions and build relationships
• Invitations to in-person events and connection opportunities to expand personal network
• Support and encouragement from the Cultivate Moderator

Next Stage understands the time demands and bandwidth limitations of emerging nonprofit organizations and its leaders. That’s why we designed each course to be consumable in less than an hour. By investing one hour a week in the curriculum, participants can complete all six modules within six months and by completing the module workbooks along the way will end up with a strategic plan for their organization. Once completed, leaders can elect to discuss the plan with Next Stage CEO Josh Jacobson in a complimentary session.
